The Weekend

From Monday, I was hearing "meowing" sounds coming from somewhere but tried looking at the park and I couldn't find anything. On Thursday, I heard it again and it sounded like it was coming from the drain. I check our drain, and there they were, 2 really cute kittens looking right back at me. The SPCA in me took over, and tried to get them out of the drain before it rained. We only managed to get one out. The other ran and hid but my dad got her out the next day. The poor babies were in the drain for the longest time!

Was looking for people to give them away to but in the end, we met this auntie at SPCA and she took both of them home. YAY!!

Friday night, went to show face at PC.com's event seeing as its my last for now. SmallCyn and Ed joined me and so we have free dinner and drinks before moving on to the party.

We moved to No Black Tie. It's got a really great ambience. I love the setting!! So cozy and romantic just like what a Jazz Bar should look like.

It was Tribute to James Brown night. It was good music but the sound system was a little too loud for the small confines of the place. Didn't take many pictures because it was too dark to do so. But because SmallCyn and I had so much time on our hands, due to the fact that some people reserved a table for us at 9pm and the bloody show only started at 10.30pm!

Saturday morning was medical checkup and then NeighbourlyLeeLian successfully coaxed me into going for mani pedi.

If you must know, I'm a mani pedi virgin. I'm one of those who usually laughs at the women who get their nails done. But that day, I was the one being looked at through the windows like a specimen of an experiment.

Honestly, it felt really nice getting a manicure done. For once, my nails actually look pretty. VainChoonYow found out and thought NeighbourlyLeeLian and I were turning into vain pots. But no, not as vain as you!!!

Last days

Had dinner last night with my future direct boss. She's pretty nice outside of work. Hopefully she's just as bubbly at work.

It's the weekend. Going for my last media event before I move on. Kinda makes me sad that I won't be attending so many of these events and I won't even be getting the free magazines that I get every month. BOO HOO!!!

The last days have been somewhat exctiting and sad. There will be things about the office that I will miss but there are also things that I won't miss, especially the people that are stabbing people's backs just to be the boss' pet. My official goodbye email is ready to be sent. Oh well...

After the event, it's on to No Black Tie for some jazz with SmallCyn and the rest to celebrate her birthday.

Defence Mechanisms

I recently met this guy, let's call him KH (his initials). I was minding my own business doing my work when i got a request from yahoo messenger. Not thinking, I added the guy. He introduced himself and I got to know that he's actually a friend of SexyIsabel's.

We got to talking and getting to know each other...sort of. Long story. He being the one who wanted to make friends, and me being asian and very aware, my defences and the invisible wall were up. I don't know what happen, maybe a part of me softened but my wall came down and he stepped into my confort zone and now we're playing the tug of war of going out to meet. According to SexyIsabel, I've met him but thing is, I don't remember.

I am interested to meet up but yet, the part of me that has been hurt by acquaintances like these is keeping me from stepping forward. Yes, I had a bad experience with getting to know a guy before meeting him. He acted so much like a boyfriend and then we met, that was the last time I heard from him. Long story short, I wasn't what he expected (skinny, pretty chinese girl).

Now back to KH. Well, KH wants to meet up and I'm trying to delay as long as possible because
of my past. And so it has been a tug of war between me and him for the last two days.

My conversation with him just now left me sore. He said, "you push and you pull. It's a no wonder you don't have a boyfriend."

He hit the spot where it hurts most but I realize he's right. I have the tendency to do that often when I feel that I'm getting too close to a guy. This tendency is becoming a habit. A habit that has become a defence mechanism so that I don't get hurt.
I've done this to a few guys. I've pulled and then pushed when I realized that I was going to get hurt. He's right whether I like it or not...

I do like a certain someone now and I think I'm doing the same thing but not on a conscious level because on the outside, we're really good friends. If only I could just pull him in and keep him in....

Phone & Love

The Nokia 6300 won! I bought it on Friday when I went with NeighbourlyLeeLian to take Saurabh out to the town. And when I say town, I mean we ended up at Low Yat shopping for my phone. Of course we rewarded Saurabh for being patient by taking him the Devi's Corner in Bangsar for food.

The phone is really great and thank goodness I didn't buy the W880i because I saw it live and the keypad is really really tiny!

I've got 11 more days to go before I m0ve on in the advertising industry. WOOT!

On a another note, I have a question. Is it possible for someone to fall in love and yet not feel all tingly?

New Phone (Part 2)

I found another phone that I'm willing to look at other than Sony Ericsson's W880i and the Dopod.
Ok..Dopod is out of the question. It's way too fat and won't fit into my clutch bags so I ain't getting something thats not gonna be Andrea friendly.

Now it's the comparison between the Nokia 6300 and Sony Ericsson's W880i. I've actually pretty much made up my mind because I did a small phone evaluation with SmallCyn on msn just now.

The 6300 and W880i have pretty much the same features: slim, mp3 player, 2megapixel camera etc. The only thing that 6300 doesn't have that W880i has is 3G connection but it's not like I use 3G anyway. The 6300 has a 2 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom, the W880i only has 2.5x digital zoom..so sad..The other thing I like about Nokia is that they always provide suitably sized keypads...unfortunately, W880i has really a really tiny keypad. And plus point for 6300 is that it comes with a nice casing...very nice..and in terms of price, Nokia is cheaper by a lot...

okok...I give in...I'm buying the Nokia...

FRUSTRATED!!!

I cried too soon...

I'M PISSED! I'M ANGRY! I'M FRUSTRATED! I'M ANNOYED! I'M IN DILEMMA! I WANNA CRY ALREADY!

My company is making it hard for me to leave earlier!!!! The new company needs me to come in
as soon as possible because they want to do a proper handover or else I'll be a lost sheep when I go in. If I cannot go in at the time they want me to, they will have to look for someone else and I will lose the job. What is worse is that I will lose that job and I will be jobless because I've already resigned for this fucking company!

Went to Hard Rock on Friday to celebrate NeighbourlyLeeLian's birthday. A cozy group of 4 at one of their booths...perfecto!

The plan was to eat and then stay on for the band performance as requested by VainChoonYow. We stayed for 2 sets just for him...WAH!!..looks more like he was the b'day boy!! The band was ok only...with a name like Siluet...uhuh...Anyway, we had a good time and some candid shots of NeighbourlyLeeLian gleeming at her ice-cream!

Confession

Have you ever had that experience where you're really comfortable with the person as a friend and you know deep down you will never be anything more than friends. But yet, as you two continue to mind your own business and get to know each other better and grow together as friends, you cannot help but see that the friendship lines are becoming blur.

You can talk to this person for the longest time and yet it only seems like a few minutes. They are comfortable enough to put their arm around you, to rub your back as a sign of affection. You're able to laugh with them and yet share your inner thoughts and dreams with them. When they look at you, you see the affection in their eyes. They hold your hand to walk through a crowded place. They help you to settle your hair while you're trying to do it yourself. The both of you can be talking to one person at the same time but yet look at each other instead of that person you're talking to.

How do you deal with the situation? How do you make sure that the friendship stays comfortable but yet doesn't cross over the lines of a romantic relationship? You don't want to be each other substitute partner. How do you avoid it but not make it so obvious you're trying to? How do continue to play the game without allowing yourself to fall in love?

New Phone

Ok...I've been eyeing the Sony Ericsson W880i for a while now. I just love it! The price is a little steep but I love, love, love it!!!! The silver one looks so chic!

As I was showing FunkyMonkeyErin the phone the other day, she happen to see that Dopod PDA phone going for the same price. Alamak!!!

My dilemma!!! I've always wanted a PDA phone because of the fact that its useful and I won't need to carry a diary around. My one problem with the PDA phone is that it's bulky and its heavy. The Dopod weighs 150g. The W880i on the other hand only weighs 10g! Crap!!!! There are more features to talk about la but then I would really sound geeky... :p

How now? Can you help me decide by giving me your opinion please :)

Good News

After much anxiety and waiting ....I GOT IT!!!!

SmallCyn actually knew about it on Monday already but she didn't wanna tell me coz she didn't
wanna ruin my surprise!
How does Cyn know? She knows the HR person...hehe...

Anyway, out to drink tonight with some ex-colleagues and then tomorrow its NeighbourlyLeeLian's early b'day dinner. I've promised to drink with Choon Yow to celebrate my switch. And if I happen to hop over to Poppy's on Saturday to party with SexyIsabel, that'll mean I would be drinking for 3 days straight...DIE!!!
